The Red and White Ball is a Sonoma institution, occurring every two years with an occasional longer break. It is totally non-profit, has an unpaid board and no staff. All proceeds from our events are donated to charity and we have done this for 19 years and raised nearly a million dollars.

The formal organization for this event is the Sonoma Plaza Foundation, a registered 501 c 3 charity, whose only event is the Red and White Ball.

Prominent past recipients of our ball funds you can still see include the electrical system for Plaza events, landscaping around city hall, the amphitheater (new seats and roof), benches, tree plantings, the Visitors Bureau sign, and the list goes on. A local charity is sometimes designated as our fund recipient. La Luz and Vineyard Worker Services education programs will receive our proceeds for 2010.
